Sipoteni este un sat şi comună din raionul Călăraşi. Din componenţa comunei fac parte localităţile Sipoteni şi Podul Lung. Localitatea se află la distanța de 12 km de orașul Călărași și la 58 km de Chișinău. La recensămîntul din anul 2004, populaţia satului constituia 7370 de locuitori. Satul Sipoteni a fost menționat documentar între anii 1568-1572.
