Soroca este un oraş din Republica Moldova, centrul administrativ al raionului Soroca. Amplasat  în nord-estul republicii, pe malul drept al Nistrului, oraşul Soroca este situat la 160 km de Chișinău. Conform datelor recensămîntului din anul 2004, populaţia oraşului constituie 28362 locuitori. Prima atestare documentară a Sorocii datează din 1499, data încheierii tratatului de pace moldo-polon, la care a fost prezent şi “Coste Posadnic, pîrcălab de Soroca”.
