Medveja este un sat şi comună din raionul Briceni. Din componenţa comunei fac parte două localităţi: Medveja şi Slobozia-Medveja. Satul Medveja se află la o distanță de 25 km de oraşul Briceni, la 3 km de staţia de cale ferată Medveja, 270 km de Chișinău. La recensămîntul din anul 2004, populaţia satului Medveja constituia 1661 de oameni. Prima atestare documentară a satului Medveja datează din 1 august 1432.
